The Illinois High School Association is proud to have two licensed IHSA Officials who have been selected to work the 2015 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Los Angeles, California from July 25-August 2.

Jerry Blum (right) and Bob Reczek (left) have both been selected to work the basketball tournament as a part of the 2015 Games. They are a part of 70 referees from around the world who will officiate the tournament, which has teams from 65 countries competing.

"We are proud to have Bob and Jerry representing the IHSA and IHSA Officials at the Special Olympics World Summer Games," said IHSA Assistant Executive Director Craig Anderson. "It is an incredible personal accomplishment, but also reflective of high school officials as a whole. The men and women who officiate high school contests in Illinois give back to their communities in a variety of ways. We hear about countless acts of kindness, charity and volunteerism from our officials each year, and know that there are many many more like it that go unreported."

Blum, a native of Lake Zurich, has been selected to work the IHSA Girls Basketball State Finals on three occasions (2011, 2012, 2014), while Mokena resident Reczek is also a three-time (2005, 2006, 2009) IHSA State Final official in the sport.

Reczek was also named the IHSA Girls Basketball Official of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.
