During the Opening Ceremonies of the 2017 IHSA Girls Badminton State Finals at Eastern Illinois University on May 12, 2017, the IHSA and the Illinois High School Badminton Coaches Association took the time to honor three legends of IHSA Badminton.

Prospect High School head coach Jean Rezny (left), New Trier head coach Deborah Ofcky (center), and Deerfield High School head coach Edee Madsen (right) are all retiring at the conclusion of the 2017 season. The trio were recognized for their service to the game, as they have combined to coach or give back to the sport of girls badminton for over 90 years.
