A pair of standout boys’ basketball players both had memorable nights on the hardwood last week thanks to great acts of sportsmanship from the opposing coaches and teams.
Larkin High School’s Christian Negron
(pictured right) will continue his basketball career at Loyola University in Chicago next year, but his senior high school season was wiped out by a torn ACL. Still, thanks to St. Charles North he returned to the floor for a memorable moment on Senior Night. Read more from the

UHIGH’s Kai Bates-Diop suffered cardiac arrest at a recent practice, but had his life saved by the high school’s certified athletic trainers via CPR and an AED. His family is now raising money to make sure high schools around the country have AEDs readily available. While just a sophomore, Bates-Diop enjoyed a special night in conjunction with Pontiac High School on UHIGH’s Senior Night, which was also a fundraiser event for his AED initiative.
