Nashville High School senior Shawn Rennegarbe, one of the 26 members of the 2014 IHSA All-State Academic Team, shared the following words of wisdom she attributes to Mia Hamm in her application essay for the All-State Academic Team:

"Somewhere in the stands is a little girl who wants to be just like you...don't let her down"


Shawn has been a role model in athletics and in the classroom. She helped the Hornettes basketball team to the 2013 Class 2A state title, scoring 11 of the team's 42 points in the win, and placed fourth individually at the 2014 IHSA Class A Girls Golf state meet, helping Nashville to another team state championship. She is an Illinois State Scholar with a 4.0 GPA and ranks No. 1 in her class.
