Each year at the IHSA Girls Basketball State Finals, the
Bloomington-Normal Area Convention & Visitors Bureau and the
BN Sports Commission work together to bring past state champion teams back to Redbird Arena to reunite and be recognized.
At the 2015 Class 3A & 4A finals on Saturday, March 7, individuals from the Richwoods Class AA title team from 2005 reunited. The group included members of the coaching staff, one of the top players in Megan McGann and other support staff.

Several players were unable to make Saturday’s festivities due to family commitments and living out-of-state, but those in attendance said it was an exciting precursor to a planned team reunion this May.
After being recognized on the Redbird court, head coach John Gross and McGann took a few moments to reminisce on their undefeated 38-0 season and state final experience. Gross went on to lead Richwoods to a second state title in 2009, while McGann was one of the top players in the 2005 tournament, tallying 33 points and 21 rebounds in three state final games:
