The University of Miami football team captured the imagination of sports fans around the country this fall when it introduced its “turnover chain”, which a player dons on the sideline immediately after creating a turnover.
Not surprisingly, the concept trickled down to the high school game, and IHSA fans got to see it up close on Phillips Academy’s Craig Elmore (bottom) after he returned a fumble 44 yards for a touchdown during the 2017 Class 5A state title game.
Loyola Academy has brought the concept to the hardwood, as they recently debuted the “Charge Chain” on Twitter.
