Lincoln High School honored legendary boys’ basketball coach Neil Alexander on January 6, 2018, when the school dedicated its gymnasium court in his honor.
Alexander coached the Railsplitters to a 45-25 win over Harlan High School that evening. Since taking over the Lincoln program in 1990-91, Alexander has won over 600 games and has taken the Railsplitters to the state finals four times, including a Class 3A runner-up finish in 2014.
All told in his 42-year career, which included prior stops at Westmer, Yorkwood and Bushnell-Prairie City, Alexander entered the 2017-18 season 18 wins shy of 800 career victories.
