On Friday, January 27, 2017, LaSalle-Peru senior bowler Nate Stubler became the second bowler in IHSA history to roll a pair of perfect games at the IHSA Boys Bowling State Finals. Just like the first player, Harlem’s Jacob Nimtz in 2015, Stubler followed up by winning the IHSA Individual State Championship with a state-record score.

Stubler’s 300 games came in back-to-back games, as he rolled a 300 in his fourth and fifth games (out of six total games).

Ironically, Harlem’s Nimtz was in action this weekend and was within shouting distance of Stubler, as Stubler was the individual leader (1,642 pins) after Friday’s action and Nimtz ranked third (1,424).

Stubler followed Friday’s 1,642 pinfall with a Saturday score of 1,474 for a two-day total of 3,116 pins, which surpassed Nimtz’s record of 3,011 by 105 pins.
