When Lane Tech senior Larissa Seibt arrived for her lifeguard shift on Sunday morning at Leone Beach in Chicago, the Pepperdine University-bound standout thought it was going to be a quick check-in before starting her day.

But the Chicago-resident had some special visitors waiting for her with a pair of Cubs/White Sox tickets to thank her for Making A Difference On AND Off The Field.

Special needs children from TopSoccer, which is a US Youth Soccer community-based program for young athletes with disabilities, honored and surprised Larissa for giving back to them over the past six years. Since she was in seventh grade, Larissa has traveled out to Addison on Saturday evenings to help make a difference in the lives of children.

“It’s such a special opportunity to give back and help children,” said Larissa, whose parents and friends also were in attendance for the special moment.

The surprise honor and tickets were a part of the Making A Difference On AND Off The Field campaign, presented by Buddy’s HELPERS and the PepsiCo Showdown.
