The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) celebrated its 20th year of playing America’s Original March Madness in Peoria with a special guest national anthem singer for the Class 4A state championship game on Saturday, March 21.
The IHSA and Peoria welcomed renowned anthem singer
Jim Cornelison, who is known to sports fans for the raucous rendition of the anthem he provides with the support of United Center fans at home Chicago Blackhawks games, as well as other high-profile events around the country.
IHSA hoops fans inside the Peoria’s Civic Center’s Carver Arena didn’t miss a beat, as Cornelison created an electric title game atmosphere prior to the tip-off between eventual state champion Stevenson High School and runner-up Normal Community.
