IHSA All-Star Participation By-Law Updates Effective On July 1, 2024

A change to the IHSA’s All-Star Participation by-law went into effect on July 1, 2024.

The by-law, which was submitted by an IHSA member school, does not allow high school students at IHSA schools to participate in all-star games until their high school eligibility is complete.

In December 2023, the 800+ member high schools who make-up the IHSA voted to change the IHSA by-law related to all-star game participation. This by-law encompasses all IHSA sports, including baseball and softball, both in the high school and travel seasons. The by-law does not apply until a student has attended high school.

Students who graduated from high school in 2024 are eligible for All-Star games.
