Hitting a last second shot to win an IHSA basketball state championship assures you legendary status at not only your high school, but for all-time in state tournament lore. So that leaves the question of what to call Geneva’s Stephanie Hart, who in a feat unlikely to ever be repeated, sunk the winning shot in the waning moments of both the 2017 and 2018 IHSA Class 4A title games, lifting the Vikings to back-to-back crowns.
Hart, shown sinking her 2018 jumper to give Geneva a 26-24 win over Montini from two angles above, used a putback to topple unbeaten Edwardsville 41-40 in 2017.
