Harlem High School’s Jacob Nimtz made history at the 2015 IHSA Boys Bowling State Finals at St. Clair Bowl in O’Fallon, as he became the first bowler in state final history to bowl two perfect games in one state final tournament.
Nimtz’s 300 games came during his first and third games on the second day of the tourney finals on Saturday, January 31, 2015. There were just seven total 300 games in the 13-year history of the state finals before he pushed that total to nine.
Nimtz used the two perfect games to propel himself to the individual state title with a 12-game total of 3,011 (250.9 average), which was a new individual state final record (previously 2,963 by Salem High School’s Alex Henseler, in 2008).
