While traveling to the First to the Finish Invitational in Peoria last weekend, the Genenseo High School boy’s cross country team endured a harrowing set of circumstances that could have turned tragic if not for the heroic actions of head coach Don Fredericks (right).

The Maple Leaf bus found itself swerving and then driving the wrong way on the highway after its driver suffered an aneurysm, but Fredericks quick reaction helped avert disaster.
