The National High School Athletic Coaches Association (NHSACA) has announced the selection of Galesburg High School's Evan Massey to the National Coaches Hall of Fame.
The honor is presented to coaches across the nation to recognize their achievements in coaching, their contributions to their schools, communities, and states, their years of service to high school sports, and most importantly, their unselfish commitment to young athletes.
“While I am overwhelmed and very flattered to receive such an honor, basketball is a team sport," said Massey of his honor.
"I am getting the recognition but it has been a team effort and team achievement.
"It starts at home with the support and sacrifice of my wife and son." he added. "I have been blessed to have players and parents who bought into a culture of hard work and the 'we' being more important than the 'me.'
