A pair of shoes is something most take for granted. But to some, a pair of shoes can represent so much.

On Saturday, September 10, 2016, students from 64 different high schools collected 3,000 pairs of shoes.

The next day they displayed the 3,000 pairs of shoes to serve as an educational and visual interpretation of how many lives were lost on September 11, 2001. Sadly, those 3,000 pairs of shoes also represent the number of people shot in Chicago in 2016 and the number of homeless youth (13-17) in Chicago.

The students took the take those shoes and make surprise deliveries to help Chicago’s homeless get back on their feet.

This event was a part of the "Making A Difference On AND Off The Field" campaign, presented by Buddy’s HELPERS and the PepsiCo Showdown.
