The Belleville East Girls Bowling team made Senior Night extra special for their team manager, Alex Symonds, an 18-year old senior who is a part of the school's assisted learning program and suffers from Cornelia de Lange Syndrome (CdLS), a genetic disorder that typically includes small birth weight and affects physical and cognitive skills.
Talking about Alex to Norm Sanders of the Belleville News Democrat, Belleville East senior Geneva Fox said:
"He means so much. I don’t think words can describe how much he means to us. We’ve never had a manager as great as he has been to us. He means everything.”
