At its annual conference in South Dakota in June, the National High School Athletic Coaches Association (
NHSACA) honored its National Coaches of the Year, a group that included Barrington High School girls’ golf coach Jodi Schoeck (above, top left).
Schoeck was recognized by the NHSACA after leading the Fillies to a second-place finish in Class 2A at the 2017 IHSA state meet at Hickory Point Golf Course in Forsyth. Led by individual runner-up Caroline Smith, Barrington finished just 10 strokes behind state champion New Trier.
Schoeck has guided the Barrington program to a trio of state final trophies in her tenure as coach, including back-to-back second-place finishes.
