Former long-time East Peoria High School softball coach Deb Neff and current Metamora High School softball coach Deric Linder will hold the first-ever Molly Hardesty Softball Clinic at Eureka College on Saturday, February 6, 2016 to keep the name of their friend alive.

Hardesty, who attended Richwoods High School in Peoria and then coached softball at Limestone High School from 2010-2014, passed away from lung cancer in May, 2015.

Hardesty and Linder had held a joint clinic together before she got sick, and Neff, who is now the head coach at Eureka College, teamed with Linder to keep the tradition going after renaming the clinic in Hardesty’s honor.

Hardesty has been a student-teacher under Neff at East Peoria High School as a college student.

“Molly was a very sincere and a caring person,” said Neff. “As her student teacher mentor, I treasured our conversations about teaching, softball and more importantly, life. She loved coaching and this clinic is in her dedication.”

Coaches of all levels are invited to attend the clinic.
