Nine weeks of regular-season high school football action in Illinois gives way to the second season, as the 2023 IHSA Football Playoffs officially get underway on Saturday, October 21 with the revealing the playoff qualifiers and fields.

The IHSA Football Playoff Pairings Show, which will unveil the brackets and first round matchups of all 256 playoff qualifiers across eight classes, will air live on statewide television via the IHSA’s new TV Network partnership with Weigel from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The show will also be streamed live on the NFHS Network and at IHSA.org. Some CW affiliates will tape-delay the show due to ACC football. Stations by market can be found below (or by clicking here) and viewers are encouraged to check local listings. The show will be produced by the IHSA broadcast partners at Weigel Broadcasting.

Veteran IHSA TV broadcasters Dave Bernhard and Matt Rodewald will take fans through each of the eight playoff classes, revealing the road to Hancock stadium, while also highlighting the top teams, stories, and players in the field.

Additionally, the broadcast will close by naming the 2023 IHSA Pork & Pigskins State Champion. The contest, presented by the Illinois Pork Producers, aims to crown the best concession stand pork fare in the state. See the Savory 16 in the running for the state title here.

The 2023 IHSA Football State Championship games return to Hancock Stadium on the campus of Illinois State University in Normal on November 24-25, marking the return of the state games to ISU for the first time since 1998.
