The 2016 IHSA Class 2A & Class 3A Girls Soccer State Finals return to Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium on the campus of North Central College in Naperville on Friday and Saturday, June 3-4.

All eight matches this weekend will be broadcast live by the NFHS Network on www.IHSA.tv by presenting sponsor Country Financial and rebroadcast on Comcast SportsNet Chicago beginning on June 9 (2A) and June 11 (3A, see right sidebar for more details).

A brief synopsis and individual team stat leaders from each qualifying team are available below & a full weekend schedule is located on the righthand sidebar:

CLASS 2A

DEERFIELD WARRIORS (21-6-1)

Deerfield has used smothered defense to reach the state finals for the first time in school history. Not only has head coach Rich Grady’s squad recorded 17 shutouts this season, but the team hasn’t allowed more than two goals in a match all year long.
Goals: 12-Chloe Cappas & Margot Sylvan
Assists: 10-Enya Horgan, 9-Sylvan
Goalkeeper: Sari Eisen (14 goals allowed, .50 GAA, 136 saves)

ST. FRANCIS SPARTANS (17-3-0)
Head coach Jim Winslow and the Spartans return to the state finals for the first time since 2012 when the school captured its lone girls’ soccer state title in school history. St. Francis could be back on the same track, as the team has yet to allow a postseason goal, outscoring its four foes 34-0.
Goals: 26-Kendra Pasquale, 12-Jill Ditusa & Erin Peck
Assists: 12-Pasquale & Peck
Goalkeeper: Tammy Syron (13 goals allowed, .72 GAA, 45 saves)

ROCHESTER ROCKETS (23-2-1)
The Rockets rolled to the Class 1A state title a year ago and the squad has been undeterred by its enrollment boosting it up to Class 2A this season, as the program makes its sixth state final appearance since 2006. Head coach Chad Kutscher welcomes back five double-digit goal scorers from a year ago.
Goals: 29-Becca Jostes, 28-Amanda Williams
Assists: 25-Ally Milnes, 15-Jostes
Goalkeeper: Maddie Gleeson (15 goals allowed, .63 GAA)

SYCAMORE SPARTANS (23-2-1)
It took Sycamore and head coach David Lichamer seven seasons to make it back to state after placing fourth in their inaugural appearance in 2009. On paper, it appears the Spartans could be a state final regular in the coming years, as the top four goal scorers are three freshman and one sophomore.
Goals: 25-Syadie Holland, 24-Ella Holland
Assists: 14-Syadie Holland, 13-Ella Holland
Goalkeeper: Amanda Cook (15 goals allowed, .58 GAA)

CLASS 3A

NEW TRIER TREVIANS (24-3-1)

New Trier vies for its third consecutive state championship and sixth in program history this weekend. Jim Burnside’s experienced squad features the state’s Gatorade Player of the Year, and avenged two of its three regular-season losses in its Sectional Final (Evanston) and Super-Sectional (St. Charles North) wins.
Goals: 16-Kelly Maday, 15-Bina Saipi
Assists: 17-Maday, 12-Saipi
Goalkeeper: Dani Kaufman (6 goals allowed, .32 GAA)

HUNTLEY RED RAIDERS (22-3-2)
One year after falling to Barrington in the Super-Sectional round, Kris Grabner’s Huntley squad got revenge by beating Barrington 1-0 in this year’s Super. The Red Raiders have won three straight one-goal games to punch their ticket to the state finals for the first time in school history.
Goals: 30-Taryn Jakubowski, 10-Brianna Wilder
Assists: 13-Alyssa Kaufman, 11-Jakubowski
Goalkeeper: Paige Renkosik (17 goals allowed, .65 GAA, 131 saves)

GLENBARD EAST LADY RAMS (23-4-0)
Glenbard East’s path to its first state final appearance has been anything but easy. The Rams knocked off top seed Lyons in penalty kicks in its Sectional Semifinal and won again via penalty kicks against Hinsdale Central in the Sectional final. Kent Overby’s squad then topped 2012 and 2013 state champ Naperville North 2-0 in the Super-Sectional to continue the best season in school history.
Goals: 30-Brittany Paganucci, 15-Dana Plotke
Assists: 15-Paganucci, 11-Elizabeth Toledo
Goalkeeper: Sierra Dana (12 goals allowed, .44 GAA, 72 saves)

COLLINSVILLE KAHOKS (21-1-2)
The Kahoks placed fourth a year ago in Collinsville’s first state final appearance in over a decade and first trip under head coach Clay Smith. The graduation losses of two of its top scorers from a year ago hasn’t slowed them down, as they have reloaded to the tune of outscoring their five postseason opponents by a combined total of 24-2.
Goals: 24-Emily Holten, 19-Tayler Devine
Assists: 15-Holten, 12-Andrea Frerker
Goalkeeper: Morgan Lerch (8 goals allowed, .33 GAA, 37 saves)
Julie Scheiter (11 goals allowed, .46 GAA, 71 saves)
