The 2015 IHSA Girls Swimming & Diving State Finals are set to take place inside New Trier High School’s Natatorium on Friday and Saturday, November 20-21. The 2015 state meet marks the 41st annual edition of the state finals and the fourth year that finals will be contested for athletes with disabilities.
The prelims and finals of every event will be webcast live with full video and audio with a subscription at IHSA.tv.
-Barringon senior Kirsten Jacobsen, the two-time defending 200 free champion and state record holder, will try for the career sweep of the 500 free after winning the event in 2012, 2013, and 2014. Two more individual state titles would give her seven for her career, which only one female swimmer has accomplished in state history.
-Rosary junior Alexis Yager is the defending IM champion and a contender in the 100 breaststroke who could lead Rosary to its first state title since the school won four straight from 2006-2009.
-Effingham senior Avery Braunecker returns to defend her 50 and 100 freestyle state titles.
-Metamora sophomore Noelle Peplowski tries for a second straight breaststroke state title and is also a top IM contender.
-Lake Forest senior Reilly Lanigan is one of the leaders for a Scout squad in search of a team trophy. Her transition to the 200 and 500 free this year will be a key, as she appears to be a contender in both.
-St. Charles North’s Audrey Guyett was second in the 500 as a freshman last year and her move from the IM to the backstroke provides another event where she could earn hardware.
