Bruce Fasol, the legendary radio voice of West Frankfort High School and long-time radio personality in Southern Illinois, was honored with his IHSA Distinguished Media Service Award at West Frankfort High School’s Max Morris Gym on Saturday, November 30, 2013.

Fasol was honored during the season-opening rivalry game between West Frankfort and Benton, receiving his award from Anna-Jonesboro High School Superintendent Jim Woodward, who served on the IHSA Board for nearly a decade. After receiving the award, Fasol addressed the crowd before returning to his perch above The Supreme Court to resume his radio broadcast.
