St. Bede Academy Athletic Director Tom McGunnigal shared this photo from the LaSalle News Tribune of St. Bede and Amboy High School players and coaches gathering together during their Week 1 game after a St. Bede player suffered a severe leg injury.

McGunnigal reflected, saying:
"As injured player was on the field being attended to Friday night. BOTH teams and coaching staffs got together for a prayer for him. This is the Spirit of Competition and Sportsmanship. It was remarkable for me, at one point, to turn around and see this taking place."
