Authorized Concussion Education Providers
In accordance with the Youth Sports Concussion Safety Act, the Illinois High School Association is pleased to announce the organizations listed below have been authorized to provide concussion education for coaches and/or game officials. These organizations have submitted materials regarding their programs to the IHSA, and the IHSA’s Sports Medicine Advisory Committee has reviewed the curriculum and determined it meets the requirements of the law. Individuals who complete a training from any of the organizations below need to provide proof of completion to their school (if the person is an athletic coach) or the IHSA (if the person is a licensed official).

New Concussion Education Program available for Coaches and Officials
The IHSA is excited to announce that its member schools and licensed officials can now access the association’s most recent concussion education program. The program is available in both the IHSA School and Official Centers. Completion of the program for athletic/activity coaches and licensed officials is a requirement of the Youth Sports Concussion Safety Act and must be completed by September 1, 2016. The IHSA has provided member schools with information about the law during the current school year, and a link to the entire law can be found in the release just below this one (“Update to Youth Sports Concussion Act”).
