
A new national record was set on Friday, February 28, 2025, during the 2025 IHSA Boys Swimming & Diving State Final at FMC Natatorium in Westmont, Illinois.
Hinsdale Central High School's (Hinsdale, IL) 200 Medley Relay Team of Henry Guo (Sr.), Matt Vatev (Jr.), Josh Bey (Sr.) and Luke Vatev (So.) completed the event in a time of 1:26.75 to set a new national high school record.
The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) certifies national high school records and currently lists Carmel High School (Carmel, Indiana) as the record-holder with a time of 1:26.88, which was set on February 26, 2022.

Hinsdale Central set the new national mark during the Prelim Round of the state swim meet, qualifying them for the Finals, where they had the opportunity to potentially improve on Friday's record-setting time. They were unable to best their record-setting mark in the state finals, but they did win the 2025 state championship with a time of 1:27.01.
