As the IHSA begins preparing for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 Classification Cycle, the Association has announced its projected timeline for schools to renew their existing cooperative teams. Schools forming new cooperative teams are not impacted by this announcement. Schools wishing to form new cooperative teams can submit the necessary application and paperwork at any time.
Schools wishing to renew already existing cooperative teams will be able to do so following this timeline:
Mid-January 2023
Host schools notified of all coops up for renewal
February 1
Cooperative team renewal form for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 Classification Cycle available in IHSA Download Center; form for new cooperative teams also available at this time
Mid-April
IHSA Office will begin listing approved cooperative teams for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 Classification Cycle on the IHSA website
Member schools can review what cooperative teams their school is current involved in the IHSA Schools Center. After logging into the Schools Center, an administrator or coach can first select the “T” tab (T=Sport & Activity Tracker). On the next screen, a link entitled ‘Coop teams’ will be found in the yellow text area at the top of the screen. Individuals can select that link, and the next screen will display all the coops of which a member school is involved. This page is another great reference for schools to access while establishing or renewing coops.
Individuals with questions can contact Kurt Gibson at the IHSA Office.
