WINNING COACH Peg Kopec, Wheaton (St. Francis) -- It’s a great excitement (to be at the state tournament) and great privilege to be playing tomorrow. To be able to play for a state championship is an unbelievable goal. Quincy (Notre Dame) is a fine team. We’ll have our work cut out for us tomorrow.
LOSING COACH Sandy Griffin, Red Bud -- I’ve been trying to get back down here for 23 years. This team is special because they caused it. I’m happy for everyone of them. The team can pass better than what they showed today. I love my girls. I think it’s possible some younger players had some jitters; all of them had some jitters. Wheaton is fantastic. I knew they would be a strong team.
