Winning Coach, Denise Lazzeroni, Downers Grove (South) -- "We came in knowing it was a point-to-point match. We did a good job controlling number 15 and our blocking was wise. It helps to have tradition and a sense of pride. It was the girls' goal to come to state. We take things one match at a time and focus on each team as we are playing. "
Kelly Baker: "I've been preparing all year and don't even think about what the score is. Sets were great by Heather (Holtzberg)."
Heather Holtzberg: "Defense was phenomenal today, and I knew what to expect."
Chantel Reedus: "I don't think it was payback (for a loss to Jacksonville in September), it was come in and play as hard as we could. The lineup this year is different and better. We come together more."
Erika VanHootegem: "I think we switch offense and defense to try to pick out the opponents' holes."
Losing Coach, Larry Sample, Jacksonville (H.S.): "I'm really pleased with the way we held in there. We proved here that we could play DGS. "
Mia Perry: "(About DGS): They're a little better than last time. We knew they weren't going to give up."
Kara Brown: "They had maybe more of an advantage having been here before, but that didn't really bother us."
