Manager's Comment: Great job by our students for catching fish under tough conditions at Shabbona Lake today. Recent rain made the water very muddy, but some teams still managed to find successful patterns. DeKalb High School (Boat #1, Dave Elliott) caught 5 fish for 12.38 lbs to win the sectional title. Congrats to Charlie VanderBleek and Ava Holley on their dominant performance taking the victory with a winning margin over 3 pounds higher than the next team! Finishing in 2nd Place was St. Charles North (Boat #1, Tim Pinks) with 5 fish for 9.26 lbs. Advancing for the North Stars are Wil Lackner, Hudson VonQualen, Ethan Musich, and Wyatt Tiedt. Finishing in 3rd Place was Stillman Valley (Boat #1, Brad Olson) with 3 fish for 6.90 lbs. Coach Olson reported that they landed their final bass on the last cast before heading in for the weigh-in! Representing the Cardinals were Levi Coppernoll, Andrew Gibbs, Parker Simms, and Seath Shepard. The alternate qualifier was Geneva (Boat #1, Tom Anderson) with 4 fish for 6.54 lbs. Fishing for Geneva today was Preston Wolf, Nick Easter, Ben Barton, and Adrian Morcheschi. Congratulations to Payton Hueber from Shabbona (Indian Creek HS) for catching the big bass of the day at 2.80 lbs! Thanks to all of our teams for a great event and to the staff at Boondocks Baitshop for allowing us to use their facilities.
