Winning coach:
(Of Theresa Lisch) "I believe we played the best player in the tournament today. I believe she is the best player all around. She just played a great all around game yesterday and makes everyone around her better. We really concentrated on her, guarding her and keying on her possessions."
"I told the girls we were going to have to nail our free throws and we did that down the stretch, so that was a credit to us."
"That was a good last second shot at the very end, it hit the front of the iron, and she actually got two shots off. I wanted two on her #12, Theresa Lisch), and the rest on the #42 (Michelle Mabry). Her first shot didn't go in, they got the rebound and she got another shot off from the other wing. I'm just happy it didn't go in."
"The two three's at the start of the fourth quarter were big keys for us. That just turned the momentum and gave us confidence. I believe we got some jumpers after that."
"We wanted to play a different style than yesterday. We didn't play man at all yesterday, and that's what we did all day today."
"I think this is a more complete team than last year. Last year we had three solid role players, and I think the only difference from that is our rebounds. We don't have a designated rebounder, we don't have anybody that loves to rebound anymore."
"Speed will be a key tonight, defense has gotten both teams here. We're going to try to key on getting a lot of transition points tonight. They (Rock Island Alleman) had quite a few turnovers in their game before, so we'll try and concentrate on that."
#3 Guard Latear Eason, "I think this was the most difficult game for us, I think #12 (Theresa Lisch) kept making basket after basket and that was hard to contain. But we tried our best to defend her."
#10 Guard Precious Gaddis, "#12 (Theresa Lisch) was trying to get every loose shot off, we wanted everyone to concentrate on her not getting a shot off."
Losing coach: Lori Crunk, Belleville (Althoff) "I didn't think we played very good today. We did some things that were pretty out of character for us. I don't know if we were intimidated or what. But we didn't quit, we didn't give up, and found a way to stay in the game so I give our team credit for that."
"I think if we could have contained them a little bit better we would have had a better shot. In the first half we let them drive on us way too much."
(Of Theresa Lisch) "She was playing hurt, she really played her heart out. I think the girls may have been a little tentative because of that. I give her so much credit, she really took one for the team this weekend, trying to pull us through."
"It's really hard to come back after this. They're pretty sad. We knew once we saw the teams that would be here we knew we had a chance to take the championship game. This is when you find out who your real players are, they want to go home in third place not fourth, so hopefully we'll come here ready to play by game time."
