I’m real proud of my kids. They worked hard all weekend. They were all working together, everyone passing the ball, people stepping up. When they weren’t scoring baskets, they were doing other things.
Their selflessness is special. With leaders like Maggie and Morgan, they really don’t care who gets their name in the paper.
There’s probably five or six teams in the state, and you could just flip a coin and any one could win on any given night. Marian has so many weapons. They’re a terrific team.
The key was defense and execution down the stretch. We take pride in our defense.

All we wanted to do was get down here and play as well as we could and we knew that if we did that it would be all right. And it feels awesome!
Losing Coach Shannon Reidy (Marian Catholic):
The best part is we lost to the state champions.
I’ll take a loss to Hinsdale Central any day. They’re a great team with a great coach, and that’s what having all those seniors will do for you.
This is not so hard to take because we’re such a young team. I’m really proud of our kids and with most of them coming back next year, we’re looking forward to coming back next year.
