"They gave us a tough run, it was a very tough ballgame. We're just happy to be playing for the championship."
"They gave us a lot of problems, especially early. I think our defense was a carry over from yesterday, we wanted to give up layups for some reason. We had a tough time shutting that down, but once we got going our height helped us a little bit. The best part was we were shutting down the three."
"It was easy for us to prepare for this game because we have a team back home, Byron High School, that plays almost the exact same style. We just told our kids to 'picture yourself playing Byron.'"
"It took us awhile to adjust to their quickness and figure out what they were doing."

``First of all I would like to congratulate a great opponent today Winnebago, they were tough they caused a lot of problems for us, you can see why they only lost one game all year long. I thought we battled them pretty hard. We kind of got down by our magic number, seven, in the second half and that is where we managed throughout the tournament. Not that we said that's right where we wanted them when we got down by seven, but we cut it in a hurry back to even. They went to ten over and after that we couldn't recover from that one. I'm certainly proud of these men, and we are going to battle again tonight and they are going to give all their heart again."
"We're not hanging our heads or dragging our tails behind or anything. We're disappointed. We truly had our heart intent on going to that championship game. Anytime a dream doesn't get realized it's a disappointment, but we certainly have a big perspective and understand it isn't the end of the world or anything and we'll keep playing and keep living."
"We didn't shoot well from the perimeter today, two for thirteen from three. That always helps to keep going a little bit. We can get the attack and the kick outs. I think when the shots aren't followed by that much they ca focus on shutting the seems down. We had a few attacks but they didn't fall and then we got bumped a little bit. Maybe if we played a little harder or something. They have been dropping and we didn't that stretch."
"They played just good solid defense all around. They switched a little bit, certainly it's credit to them. I don't know a specific thing they did."
"I think this team today, pretty athletic could guard the perimeter a little better than some big guys can. They play a similar game to us trying to keep five out. We don't really just sit somebody in the post." |
