QUOTES AND NOTES
Winning coach Chuck Ramsey, Gurnee (Warren)
``This was a game where our kids played a real solid and well-rounded game. Other than a little stretch in the third quarter we were real consistent. We played good defense and we knew that (Brian) Cook would score some points but we didn't let him go crazy.
``We played solid team defense and everyone that did play contributed to the win in some way. I don't know what the stats are but it seemed like we did a good job on the boards. We definitely made our free throws (29 of 35 for the game).''
``We were playing against a defense we don't normally see. I felt like we adjusted real well to the ball press defense they were using. It forced all our players to handle the ball and make good decisions and I think for the most part we did that.''
``This game is pretty indicative of the way we played in the Supersectional. In fact we probably played our best games of the year in the last two games.''
On defending Cook - ``We had Jourdain (Milot) on Cook and it probably worked out two-thirds of the time. What we were trying to do was front with Jourdain and pressure with Jourdain when Cook was out on the perimeter and then have (Mike) Brandow help out. They made an adjustment to put another shooter in so there times when we wanted to get Jourdain out on that shooter and Brandow guard Cook. Both did a good job of denying the ball and got some help from the rest of the team.''

``Warren High School is a very good team. Defensively one of the better teams we've played this year. They are very quick and very physical. They force you out of your offense. They were well prepared for what we were going to do and took us out of what we wanted to do.''
``We fought back from eight down at half and our goal was four points down. We got it to one then a couple of our shots didn't go down. Give their defense a lot of credit.''
All-Stater Brian Cook - ``Their big kid (Mike Brandow) was pretty strong and they were double-teaming me. They made me earn all that I got today.''
