``First of all I'm glad to see all out there and I'm glad to be the first to speak this afternoon. Joliet was a team like a lot of them we faced this year in being quick and physical. The Western Big 6 being the type of conference it was this year helped prepare us to face a team like Joliet. That's a hard team to play against. They probably are the best offensive rebounding team we've faced this year.''
``They really present a problem in getting inside but I thought we did a good job of sealing them off. They got 12 offensive boards in the first half and I think we did a better job in the second half.''
``I feel like we did not finish the game like we normally do. We are a better free throw shooting team, shooting about 70-percent for the season. Normally when we get the lad like that we like to spread the floor. We didn't do a very good job of that this afternoon and I think we'll do a much better job (Saturday).''
``We can spread it anytime we want to. We can do it either way; we may want to start the game that way tomorrow.''

``I guess we just couldn't get over the hump. Quincy is a very tough team but we stayed with them and had a chance to catch up.''
``Inside (Luis) Rivas had a nice game. He's a real banger and we got in some early foul trouble trying to stop him.''
``We have a rather young club with some juniors and a freshman. If we were more seasoned it would have helped us in teams of our player rotations.''
``I'll remember this as a great group of kids who, were not ranked at all and rightfully so. But we played a lot of good teams and by the end of the season this team climbed to ninth.''
``We played more zone than usual and with the 1-3-1 matchup we got some steals and didn't do too badly. But as many good team does Quincy adjusted. We tried to switch up defenses to keep them from getting too comfortable.''
NOTE: The Quincy victory over Joliet (Twp) was the Blue Devils 42 state final win in their 29 appearances.
