NOTES AND QUOTES Winning coach, Todd Hopkins of Marquette: "The layoff killed our momentum. Even with the delay, I had no reservations about replacing our pitcher. We teach our kids in practice to turn into tight pitches and take them. Olympia is a well coached team, and they showed a lot of fight for battling back. " Losing coach, Ron Smith of Olympia: "Hellman threw a great ball game. Give him credit, he threw stikes. My kids were upset, but I teach my kids to take tight pitches as well. We let too many of Hellman's fastballs go bye. " |
