Notes & Quotes |
Winning coach, Frank Ganser of Andrew: "I thought we came out and hit the ball real well. Then things leveled out. When Pig (Pignatiello) hit the homer we got our 4th big run. I felt I could relax a little. Bobby (Walla) was hitting his spots pretty much all day. Pig's probably going to pitch tonight. C.J. (Hundt) can throw too and if we keep it close, (Scott) Nawrocki can come in at the end. '' Losing coach, Kirby Smith of Barrington: "The key for us was they came out sharp and played baseball. That's the thing about baseball you have to be sharp and ready to play and we weren't. The first inning was similar to Lockport's first (Friday). They weren't sharp and the other team was.'' ''My hats off to Andrew they were hitting the ball right away. We couldn't get people out quick enough to prevent them from doing real damage. If we play smart on the line drive we might still be playing. The rule is make sure the liner goes through before running. Instead we wind up with an out and that minimized our chances.'' |
