Web Site Outage Report

Football Pairings Night is always an exciting night around the IHSA Office, but this year's event proved a little too exciting in some respects.

At about 6:30 p.m., just after the Class 5A pairings were released, an equipment failure struck iHigh.com, our new Internet partner. We waited about 25 minutes while technical personnel attempted to correct the problem, and then decided we should go ahead and finish posting the pairings on our current IHSA.org Web site instead. iHigh.com service was restored at about 7:30 p.m.

The problem occurred in a router at RapidSite, which is temporarily maintaining the iHigh.com Web server. In November, iHigh.com will begin maintaining its own Web servers.

Any system failure such as this is disappointing, and especially so on a night that traditionally has marked our highest Web site usage of the year. iHigh.com will be working to determine whether the problem was related to the load and whether such a problem might also affect its new Web server configuration.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by Saturday night's outage, and assure you that we are always working to deliver the most reliable Internet service possible.
