Elizabeth A. Sauser will join the staff of the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) August 1 as Assistant Executive Director. She will be the 23rd person to serve on the administrative staff and is the tenth female administrator in the 99-year history of the organization.

"Beth brings a unique variety of experiences to our staff," said Executive Director Dave Fry. "She is the first member of our administrative staff to have played on an IHSA state championship team, and to have played professionally. She also has been a coach and an innovative administrator."

Mrs. Sauser (née Beth Hasenmiller) played center on the 1985 Elgin (St. Edward) Class A girls state basketball championship team, earning all-tournament honors as a sophomore. A year later, she led her team to third place and again was an all-tournament selection. She was named all-state in basketball both her junior and senior years.

At DePaul University, Beth played four years and captained the women's team 1988-91. She was named DePaul's outstanding senior in athletics in 1991 and earned All-American mention. Beth was the North Star Conference MVP in 1991. After graduation, she played for the Maccabi Club in Israel in 1991 and for the Illiabum Clube in Portugal in 1992. From 1991 to the present, Beth has been player personnel and fund raising coordinator for the Chicago Challengers Basketball Team.

Graduating from DePaul in 1991 with a degree in marketing & management, Mrs. Sauser is a candidate for a Masters in Education and Administration from Dominican University in May, 2000.

In 1994, she joined the staff at River Forest (Trinity) High School as athletic director and head basketball coach. During her tenure as athletic director at Trinity, the number of varsity sports offered was increased from seven to nine, the coaching staff was increased from 11 to 28, a physical wellness department including staff trainer and conditioning coach was created, and summer sports camps in basketball, tennis and cross country were initiated. She also established the school's annual 14-team Trinity Holiday basketball tournaments for junior varsity and freshmen teams and served as director of the school's summer basketball camp, which draws 200 girls grades 5th to 9th.

From 1996 to the present, Beth has been recording secretary for the Girls Catholic Athletic Conference (GCAC). Those duties include the coordinating of officials for all athletic events in the nation's largest girls school athletic conference (6 sports, 22 schools).

She has been a member of the Illinois Athletic Directors Association (ADA) since 1994. She served as a member of the IHSA News Media Advisory Committee 1994-96.

Mrs. Sauser's husband, Mike, is a real estate tax attorney.
