Boys State Basketball Tournament Public Ticket Sale Procedures Announced
PEORIA — The sale of general public series and single-session tickets to both the 1997 Class A and Class AA Boys State Final Basketball Tournaments at Carver Arena in the Peoria Civic Center will begin Saturday (Jan. 4) for series tickets only and Jan. 18 for single-session tickets, is any are available. These are earlier dates than a year ago.
Series Tickets Saturday (Jan. 4)
Series tickets for both state finals will be sold only through the Civic Center Box Office beginning on Saturday (Jan. 4), beginning at 10:00 a.m. Series tickets will not be sold on Ticketmaster. Series tickets will be sold on a first come first served basis at the Civic Center Box Office ticket windows and by telephone. The Peoria Civic Center is located in downtown Peoria at the corner of S.W. Jefferson and Fulton Streets. The Ticket Office is located on the east side of the Carver Arena. The Ticket Office phone number is (309) 673-3200.
There will be two (2) windows for Class A sales, two (2) windows for Class AA sales, and two (2) windows for combined Class A and Class AA sales in operation Jan. 4. Individuals may purchase up to four (4) series tickets at a time at a window. A person seeking to purchase series tickets to both state tournaments must be in line for one of the two windows for combined tournament sales. There is no limit to the number of times a person may visit the tickets windows on Jan. 4. However, only 500 Class A series and 800 Class AA series tickets remain.
Series tickets are priced at $32.00 for lower bowl, $24.00 for middle bowl, and $16.00 for upper bowl. All tickets are for reserved seats. Tickets in each level will be sold as long as they are available.
Single-Session Tickets (Jan. 18)
On our about Monday Jan. 13, an announcement will be made regarding the sale of single-session tickets.
If any tickets remain, single-session tickets for both state finals will be sold through the Civic Center Box Office and through Ticketmaster on Saturday, Jan. 18, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Single-session tickets will be sold on a first come first served basis at the Civic Center Box Office ticket windows, by telephone at the Peoria Civic Center and through Ticketmaster outlets or by phone statewide.
