Voting for the election of three Illinois High School Association Board of Directors positions closed on Friday, October 1, and the results were tallied and certified Monday morning.
Frankfort (Lincoln-Way North) Principal Michael Gardner was reelected as the Division 3 representative, while Normal (Community) principal Jeanette Nuckolls was reelected as an at-large member. Margaret Hayes of Chicago (Maria) won the Board of Directors seat for Division 1, which is currently represented by Joyce Kenner, principal of Chicago (Whitney Young).
Gardner, Nuckolls, and Hayes were all elected to three-year terms. An election will be held at the Board of Directors meeting on October 12 to determine the officers for the new board.
IHSA membership schools could nominate Board candidates, including a representative from their own school, beginning on August 12. Nominations were compiled on September 16, with voting lasting from September 17 through October 1.
Results of the election for Board of Directors and Legislative Commission are listed below. The names of the candidates are indicated on the following list, with an asterisk preceding the name of the person elected to each seat.
