CHICAGO – WPWR My50 is again the home of the IHSA Football Playoffs, announced Patrick Mullen, the station’s Vice President and General Manager. Coverage begins Saturday, October 20th, with the IHSA Football Playoffs Pairings selection show streamed live on the internet on FOXHILITESChicago.com, from 8:00-10:00 pm CDT.
In making the announcement Mullen stated, “We are thrilled to give Illinois high school football fans even more places to watch the IHSA Football Playoffs as part of our continuing commitment to local sports coverage.”
This weekend’s two-hour broadcast, including interviews with more than 20 coaches and highlights from over 30 schools across the state, is the start of a five-week local high school football competition. More than 250 teams will compete to reach the IHSA State Championship Games, played Thanksgiving weekend at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.
My50 and FOXHILITESChicago.com will also present live broadcast and streaming Web coverage of two IHSA semi-final games on November 16 and 17, as well as eight championship games on November 23 and 24. A full schedule of coverage is below.
