(Chicago) For the first time, WPWR-TV POWER 50 is proud to be Chicago’s home for IHSA March Madness®. The quest for the Illinois state basketball championships begins Friday, February 24th with the girls Class A quarterfinals.
The 2006 tournaments will be historic events, as the IHSA will become the first state high school association to close caption its broadcasts.
IHSA's March Madness® is the premier high school sporting event in the nation. Every winter, sixteen girls and sixteen boys high school basketball teams participate in the state final tournaments. First, the girls at Normal, then the boys at Peoria for the honor of being crowned state champion.
