The 2005 National High School Activities concludes today with Community Service Participation Day -- a time to give back to your community and show your appreciation for their support of your programs. This day also can be used to promote fund-raising efforts that support interscholastic programs.
Did you know?
Many of our schools now require a certain number of community service hours as part of the curriculum. This is yet another example that education goes beyond the classroom.
Sponsoring a blood drive, food drive, or helping to transport seniors around to complete their errands is a great way to give back to your community. Any time that can be given to your local Boys & Girls Club, or Civic Organization is greatly appreciated by those people whose lives are touched by your support. Contact your local charity organizations, senior facilities and other civic organization to find out how you can help them. It has been said that to whom much is given, much is expected, keep that in mind today and remember the great feelings you had when someone did something special for you. The best gifts are those that are shared, so share your talents with those in your community.
