The Board of Directors approved on Wednesday, April 2, 2003, rally scoring for the IHSA regional, sectional, super-sectional and state series matches effective the 2003-04 school year. The format will be two out of three games to 25 points, no cap. In addition, the let serve will also be used.
During the regular season however, teams may either play the traditional side-out scoring or participate in the 2 out of 3 rally format experiment. No other provision for play will be allowed.
