iHigh.com to Webcast Live from State Track Meets
There's nothing like an IHSA state track and field meet -- indeed, it's the Spring Spectacular. With over 2,000 competitors representing almost 400 schools, it's a grand array of color and pageantry.
We hope you'll be able to join us at this year's meets. But if you can't make it to O'Brien Stadium in Charleston, you can still hear the action live on iHigh.com, our Internet partner.
You'll be able to listen to stadium announcer Matt Piescinski, along with assistant announcers Lisa Ferry (for girls) and Al Janulis (for boys), make the live call of every heat of every race contested at the 2000 track and field state finals. They'll also bring you updates from the field events throughout each day. It's a unique event -- perhaps the first time in Internet history that such a live feed has been attempted.
Remember: This is not a radio broadcast. The stadium announcer does not speak continuously. Listen for a while and you will be able to hear:
- Competitor calls
- Race introductions
- Live descriptions of each race
- Instantaneous "unofficial" results of each race
- Official results of each race (15-30 minutes after each event)
- Official results of each field event (15-30 minutes after each event)
- Team scores
