WINNING COACH Kathy Major, Joliet (Catholic) -- “We had first game jitters, but we made the adjustments that we needed to make.” I said to the team after the first game, “We weren’t playing with a whole lot of energy. We weren’t playing with a whole lot of heart and soul, like we had all season.”
Marissa Mudron said, “The crowd makes me a lot more nervous, but after the first whistle, we were okay and happy to be here.”
LOSING COACH Chris Pruitt, Chicago (Simeon) -- “It wasn’t what I expected it was going to be. The inexperience showed, we fell short. I’m not disappointed, we have a young team.” Tenisha Wilkins said, “The younger players probably got taken in by big court and the audience.”
