Winning coach: Brad Bickett, Bureau Valley - ``I just thought our experience maybe showed early. I thought we came out and decided not to press. I had to sell it to the kids because I thought it was important. We started out in a half-court press in order to contain their penetration a little bit and maybe turn it over. It looks like it was a pretty good move now."

"We've got good athletes and they did a fantastic job, especially in the first half creating some tempo to our style of play, creating turnovers. The half-court trap was fabulous and worked the way we wanted it to."

"In the second half we just stayed above water and it wasn't anything real poetic by any means. It's kind of hard sometimes when Macomb stepped up but I thought we did some good things even when they did step up. We all know in the post-season the moral of the story is winning and I thought we handled it pretty well."

"We stayed pretty consistent defensively. There was a lot of concern because they are so well coached. Coach Taylor has been here before and he knows what it is about. (Chad) Cox has some real athleticism and his quickness just scared me to death. We just wanted to keep him out of the paint and work a trap and maybe get him to give the ball up.

Losing coach: Sean Taylor, Macomb - ``I just thought to be perfectly honest, too much Rueben Slock. I think we came out a little tentative, and I think that's to be understood. Playing in the Elite 8 will do that to you. They were here last year so I think they came out real aggressive and we came out a little tentative."

"We got down then we made some pushes and I thought we made some great pushes. But it seems like every time Slock and (John) Elliott hit big shots. You've got to hand it to Bureau Valley, they played better than us, made shots, they guarded and they're defense was very good. We had a hard time attacking it in the first half. Our defense, we've hung our hat on it all year, but Slock just took it to us."
