 Notes & Quotes
Winning coach Tom Wierzba (Farmington)

``It was really amazing we're still in this thing. These kids (pointing to the entire team) made the adjustments we needed. We've done everything as a team all year so I brought the whole team in for these interviews.

``We didn't look real good early in the game. I thought we rushed just about everything we did and we had several traveling calls. I think that was because we were being too anxious with everything we did. Our trapping in the first half was not selective enough and Nashville did a very good job of finding the open three-pointer. When were able to rush them a little bit they didn't make them but when we didn't they put the ball in the basket.''

``The third quarter has been our quarter all year, especially in the tough games this season and in the post-season. When we've come into the third quarter I don't know if we refocused a little better. We go back to the things we have to do a little bit better and these kids make tremendous adjustments at half-time.''

``What we did in the third but I know Nashville was on two points for the longest time. We went from eight down to where we had a cushion again. It was a great defensive effort, our trapping was a lot better and we hit some big buckets.''

``I thought we showed some great patience in the fourth quarter. We were without Scott Coykendall and I thought Will Smith did a super job for us. He came of the bench and did a nice job on (Brad) Fischer. Putting Smith on Fischer at the end I think made the difference.''

Losing coach Darin Lee (Nashville)

``First of all, Farming ton is a very good basketball team, but we had some wide open shots and they just didn't go in for us. Also we didn't get the ball inside like we should have.''

``We didn't work very hard to get the ball inbounds (against their press). We need Brad (Fischer) to handle the ball and to not turn it over.''

``On the last possession (three-point behind) we looked to run Bob Lee around the arc and we were happy with what we got. Fischer got a wide open shot with about eight seconds left.''

``We though about the zone defense but we never really had the lead and the ball and they'd have pulled it out if we had tried it. Hindsight is 20-20. Standing here now maybe we should have tried a zone. ''

``We didn't get back sometimes (in transition) and gave them easy shots. But basically we missed shots we can make when we had a chance to knock them out in the first half.''
