 Notes & Quotes
Winning coach, Pat Moomey of Glenwood High School: ``I’ve worried about coming back. Obviously when you’re behind you are worried. We were able to put pressure on and get it done."

(On David Cales’ Bwalk) ``I did not see what he did. Apparently h e did something, moved his hands a certain way or something, but I really did not see what he did. A tough way to lose obviously.”

``When you lose a game like this it is tough to take, but luckily it worked out for us.”

(On Casey Erickson) When he walked the lead off guy, that was our signal. It was my mistake for putting him out there. There is no chance Casey will Pitch tomorrow. The only situation I can see him pitching in would be the championship game. Today wipes him out for tomorrow, the high pitch count. That is a lot pitches to come back.”

``Their kids played hard. You can’t fault kids when they try hard. I am impressed with (Dan) O’Brien. He stuck it to us.”

Losing coach, Brian Hurry of Mt. Carmel High School: ``We made too many mistakes. To lose that game in that way was uncharacteristic of us."

``I don’t want to sound like a sore loser but that is absolutely no way to lose a game.”

(On Casey Erickson) ``He’s good. He’s tough. We couldn’t get that big hit on him. I’ve got to give him credit.”

(On Shane Meyrer running into the wall) ``He has a broken wrist, which is very unfortunate.”

``You have to make good team plays in a state championship game and we didn’t make good team plays today.”

``I wish that the kids could decide the game. I can complain all I want about the bwalk, but we have to look in the mirror first and see our mistakes too.”
